Luscombe Chapel
Luscombe Castle was designed by John Nash in 1800, for the banker Charles Hoare. The chapel, by Sir George Gilbert Scott, was added in 1862. A nice young man from RAF Benson offered to take my picture beside the Merlin. Once I was actually standing there it didn’t seem such a good idea, but it came out okay – I guess they’re trained for the tough assignments.
